EDOFEDE Studio

Terms of Sale

Last updated: [Date]

These terms apply when you, as a consumer, buy ready-made products or commission a bespoke piece from EDOFEDE Studio through our website, by email or by phone. If you are buying for a business (for example a hotel, restaurant or interior designer), our Bespoke Commission & Trade Terms apply instead. Please read these terms before ordering. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. About us

EDOFEDE Studio is operated by [Legal name / Company name], [Business address].

[Company number, if applicable.] Email: francesca27@me.com. Phone: [Phone].

2. Our products

Our patterns, textiles, homeware and clothing are designed by us and many are made by hand or in small batches. Slight variations in colour, pattern placement and texture are a natural part of the product and are not faults. Colours on screen may differ slightly from the real item. Fibre composition and care instructions are shown on each product page.

3. Placing an order and when the contract is made

When you place an order you will receive an email acknowledging it. This does not mean we have accepted your order. The contract between us is formed when we email to confirm your order has been accepted or dispatched. If we cannot accept your order (for example because an item is out of stock or there is an obvious pricing error), we will tell you and you will not be charged, or we will refund you in full.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). [If VAT registered: Prices include VAT at the current rate.] [If not: We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.] Delivery charges are shown before you pay and the total at checkout is the full amount you will pay. Payment is taken when you place your order and is processed securely by Shopify Payments. For bespoke commissions, payment terms are set out in clause 7.

5. Delivery

We deliver to [the UK / list of countries].

Ready-made items are usually dispatched within [X] working days. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout.

Unless we agree otherwise, we will deliver within 30 days of the contract being made. If we are delayed by events outside our control, we will contact you and you may cancel for a full refund.

The items become your responsibility, and you own them, once they are delivered to the address you gave us (or to someone you nominate).

For orders outside the UK, you may have to pay import duties, taxes or customs fees.

These are your responsibility.

6. Your right to cancel (change of mind) — ready-made items

You have 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods to cancel your order without giving any reason. For an order delivered in several parts, the 14 days run from receipt of the last item.

How to cancel: email francesca27@me.com or use the cancellation form on our website. A clear statement of your decision is enough.

Returning items: send the goods back within 14 days after telling us you are cancelling, to [Returns address]. You pay the cost of returning the goods unless they are faulty or not as described.

Refund: we will refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we only refund the cost of our cheapest standard delivery. We will refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you giving us evidence you have sent them, whichever is earlier, using the same payment method.

Handling: you may examine items as you would in a shop. If an item has been used or handled beyond that, and its value has gone down as a result, we may reduce your refund to reflect that.

Exceptions: the right to cancel does not apply to items made to your specifications or clearly personalised (see clause 7), or to items that cannot be returned for hygiene reasons once unsealed [delete if not relevant].

7. Bespoke and made-to-order pieces

Bespoke pieces are made specifically for you to your own design, size, colour or fabric choices.

Quote and approval: we will send you a written quote describing the piece, price, deposit and estimated timeline. Work begins when you accept the quote and pay the deposit.

Deposit: a deposit of [50]% is payable to start. It covers design time and materials bought for your piece. The balance is due before dispatch.

Design sign-off: where relevant, we will send you a sample, swatch or design proof for approval before production. Changes after sign-off may cost extra and add time.

Cancelling a bespoke order: because these items are made to your specifications, the 14-day change-of-mind right does not apply. If you cancel after accepting the quote, we may keep from your deposit our reasonable costs already incurred (design work done and materials bought), and we will refund the rest. We will tell you what has been deducted and why.

Your legal rights still apply: a bespoke piece must still match the agreed description and be of satisfactory quality. If it does not, clause 8 applies.

8. Faulty or incorrect items

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described:

within 30 days of delivery you can reject it for a full refund; after 30 days (or if you prefer) we will repair or replace it; if that is not possible or does not work, you can have a refund or a price reduction; we will pay the reasonable cost of returning faulty items.

Please contact us at francesca27@me.com with your order number and photos so we can help quickly.

This clause does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from not following the care instructions, or the natural variations described in clause 2.

9. Intellectual property

All patterns, designs, artwork, photographs and text created by EDOFEDE Studio remain our property. Buying a product gives you ownership of that item, not the right to copy, reproduce or commercially use its pattern or design.

10. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses (you are buying as a consumer). We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the products, including the right to receive goods that are as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

11. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (such as severe weather, strikes, supplier failure or courier disruption). We will tell you as soon as possible and do what we can to reduce the delay. If the delay is significant, you may cancel and receive a refund for anything you have paid for but not received.

12. Your personal information

We use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Complaints and disputes

If you are unhappy, please contact us at francesca27@me.com. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution service; we are not obliged to use one but will tell you if we agree to. You can also get free advice from Citizens Advice (0808 223 1133).

14. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your home courts.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. The terms that apply to your order are those on our website when you placed it.
